Amy Banse serves as President of Comcast Interactive Media (CIM), a division of Comcast Corporation that is responsible for developing and operating Internet businesses focused on entertainment, information and communication, including Comcast.net.

Since founding CIM in December of 2005, Ms. Banse has overseen the acquisition and development of all CIM’s properties. Fancast, CIM’s most recent venture, launched in January 2008, is the first online destination that enables users to watch, manage and find entertainment content wherever it is available – on Fancast, on television, online, on DVD or in theaters.  Also in 2008, CIM acquired the social networking site Plaxo, and the popular e-mail newsletter DailyCandy.  In 2007 the division launched a redesign of Comcast.net and acquired Fandango.com, a top movie and entertainment destination that sells movie tickets at over 15,000 screens. In 2006 Banse’s group acquired thePlatform, the industry-leading provider of digital media publishing solutions over broadband and wireless networks.

Ms. Banse joined Comcast in 1991 as an in-house attorney responsible for programming acquisition and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Content Development, where she oversaw the company’s investments in and the development of cable networks including E! Entertainment Television, The Style Network, Golf Channel, VERSUS, G4, PBS KIDS Sprout, TV One and Comcast’s sports networks.

Ms. Banse has been a featured keynote in venues around the country discussing the opportunities and development in the communications and entertainment industry. Most recently serving as a guest speaker during CTAM’s 15th Annual TeleSeminar in June 2009.  In June 2008 Base was a featured keynote speaker at CONNECTIONS ™: The Digital Living Conference and Showcase, hosted by leading research firm Parks Associates and Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®).  In March 2007 she spoke at the Museum of Television and Radio and in October 2007 she was a featured keynote at the Web 2.0 Summit which explores the bounds of technology, communication and internet development.

Ms. Banse has been named among one of the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” in 2008 and 2007 and among the “Top 7 Programmers to Watch” in 2007 by CableWorld  magazine.  She has also been honored as a “Wonder Woman” of the cable industry by Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable’s “Next Wave” of industry leaders.  Ms. Banse sits on the Board of The Morris Arboretum and Springside School for Girls.  In 2007 she received “The Distinguished Alumni Award” from Springside School, and in 2006 she was honored by Girls, Inc. as an outstanding role model for girls during their annual Celebration Luncheon.  Ms. Banse is a member of The Forum of Executive Women, the Philadelphia region's premier women's organization.

Ms. Banse received a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Temple University Law School. She and her husband and their four children live in Philadelphia.
