In the Community

We Power Dreams in Our Communities

Comcast’s strength derives from our connection to the local communities. We have three community investment priorities-promoting community service, expanding digital literacy, and building tomorrow’s leaders. Diversity is an underpinning in all of these priorities.

Partnerships

Comcast partners with a wide range of established national and local community organizations, leveraging their expertise and existing relationships to meet the needs of our diverse communities and power their dreams.

Our national partners include City Year, United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, One Economy, the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, the National Urban League, the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).

Internships and Scholarships

We also support the Emma L. Bowen Foundation, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), INROADS and T. Howard Foundation internship programs that provide leadership development opportunities to multicultural students.

Our signature Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides grants to graduating seniors who demonstrate leadership, community involvement and academic excellence. Since 2001, we have awarded nearly $13.4 million grants. This year we awarded nearly 1,900 grants, with more than 35 percent of the recipients from diverse backgrounds.

Programs

Comcast Cares Day, our annual day of volunteer service, reaches neighborhoods in 39 states and Washington, D.C. We partner with community organizations that serve in diverse and underserved neighborhoods. Since 2001, we have mobilized over 1.7 million hours of community service.

By embracing diversity we have become the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communication products and services. By embracing diversity of communities, we have become a strong community partner.
