Mitch Bowling serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager of New Businesses for Comcast Cable. In this role, he oversees the identification and development of new business opportunities that fit seamlessly into the Company’s existing product mix or expand the current scope of Comcast services.

Identifying new business opportunities is a position for which Mitch is uniquely qualified. Before being enlisted for his current role, Mitch ran all aspects of Comcast’s High-Speed Internet service, the nation’s largest broadband Internet service. For more than a decade, he has been part of a number of major Company milestones, including growing the high-speed Internet customer base from just a few thousand to more than 15 million. He also helped lead the introduction of DOCSIS 3.0 technology into Comcast’s network, which has enabled the Company to be an industry leader in D3 deployment and evolve from broadband to wideband and offer among the fastest Internet speeds in the U.S. to its residential and commercial customers. Wideband speeds are helping usher in a new era of innovation online. Mitch also helped raise considerable awareness about online child safety and identity theft prevention.

A veteran of the communications industry, Mitch previously served as Senior Vice President of Operations and led the successful execution of Comcast’s operational strategy for online and voice services – two important growth drivers for the company’s cable business. Mitch joined Comcast in 1997 as the Northeast Region General Manager for Comcast Satellite and before joining Comcast, he oversaw technical operations for Cablevision and served as General Manager for Hertz Corporation.

A graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, Mitch holds a B.S. in Business Administration. He currently sits on the board of trustees of the Philadelphia Chapter of Outward Bound, whose mission is to inspire character development and self-discovery in people of all ages and walks of life through challenge and adventure. Mitch also received an Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2008 by the Family Online Safety Institute for his efforts to raise awareness about online safety issues.

A native of Hinton, West Virginia, Mitch currently resides outside Philadelphia with his wife and 3 children.
