Matthew Strauss |
Matt Strauss serves as Senior Vice President, New Media for Comcast Cable. In this role, he oversees content acquisition for Comcast’s signature On Demand service and for Comcast’s Internet properties, including Comcast.net and Fancast.com and Comcast’s emerging platforms including On Demand Online. He also developed Select On Demand, a Comcast business unit that produces and distributes original on-demand content for a wide range of lifestyles, hobbies and interests.
Prior to joining Comcast, Mr. Strauss was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Rainbow Media’s On Demand Service Mag Rack. Prior to overseeing the launch of Mag Rack in 2001, he served as Vice President of Business Development for Rainbow Media, and previously held several management positions with Disney/ABC, including serving in the Strategic Planning department for the ABC Television Network.
Mr. Strauss has received several cable industry awards, including the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing’s Mark Award, CableFax magazine’s Programmer of the Year and the Multichannel News Innovator of the Year Award for programming. He currently serves on the boards of directors for PBS Kids Sprout, Exercise TV and FEARnet.
Mr. Strauss holds a B.S. from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and resides in Cherry Hill, NJ, with his wife and four children.
