Giving back. Powering dreams.
Reaching out to help our neighbors is the American way, and it’s part of Comcast’s DNA.
“Promoting community service” means more than just financial support. Every day, in small towns and large cities, our employees volunteer side-by-side with community partner organizations that make a real difference-including Big Brothers Big Sisters, City Year, One Economy, local United Way agencies, Boys and Girls Clubs, the YMCA and many more.
Our signature celebration of community service occurs every spring: Comcast Cares Day.
We mobilize tens of thousands of our employees, their families and friends, to work alongside community partners and public officials. In 2009, a record 60,000 volunteers gave well over 360,000 hours of service around the country-revitalizing neglected neighborhood parks, beautifying schools to improve the learning environment, stocking community food banks, and performing whatever other tasks are most needed.
Everybody wins when time and energy are invested in our communities.
"The most powerful thing we can do to bring us together as a community is to volunteer.”
-U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, on Comcast Cares Day 2009
