Comcast Cares Day

Rolling up our sleeves for a day of service.

Comcast Cares Day

On April 21, 2012, tens of thousands of Comcast employees, friends and family members joined together across the country for one of the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer efforts, Comcast Cares Day. From coast to coast, we also worked side-by-side with our colleagues from NBCUniversal in giving back to our local communities.

At more than 650 sites in 39 states and Washington, D.C., we cleaned up parks, painted schools, and partnered on incredible projects with organizations such as the National Urban League, the National Council of La Raza, City Year, the Boys & Girls Club of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the United Way.

Comcast Cares Day

  • At Frankford High School in Philadelphia, 500 volunteers refurbished the cafeteria and painted murals in partnership with City Year.
  • More than 300 volunteers cleaned up a playground, painted murals and planted new shrubbery at Slonaker Academy in San Jose.
  • And in Atlanta, the Community Food Bank welcomed 80 Comcast Cares Day volunteers who packed food boxes for distribution and spruced up the food bank’s community garden.

Comcast Cares Day began in 2001 with 6,100 volunteers at nearly 110 projects. Today it is an annual celebration of our year-round work powering dreams in our communities.
