City Year

Give a year. Change the world.

It’s a lofty goal, but City Year manages to do so year in and year out. As Comcast’s largest national partner, City Year embodies Comcast’s community investment philosophy.  The organization recruits more than 1,200 high school graduates annually for a year of service.

City Year

City Year clads their “corps members” in signature red jackets and sends them to inner-city schools, where they become a vital part in the lives of thousands of children. The program is centered on providing the training and experience to shape tomorrow’s leaders, but includes the clear message of community service and civic engagement.

City Year corps members don’t stop with a full year, however, as hundreds join us for Comcast Cares Day each year and thousands turn out annually for the City Year Serve-a-thon.

Getting Involved

Comcast’s partnership with City Year at the national level goes as far back as 2003. We’ve since renewed that partnership to carry throughout 2010 at a cash and in-kind value of more than $50 million.  Most importantly, Comcast is the proud sponsor of six Comcast City Year teams across the country.
