Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Today's Computer Club

Club TechComcast and Microsoft serve as national co-sponsors of the Club Tech program, delivering digital literacy training through one of the most recognizable community-based organizations in the country: Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). The program is designed to provide youth and teens with access to technology software, curriculum and training, equipping them with the skills needed for today’s technological world. Club Tech also incorporates technology into Clubs’ core programming and operations, creating a long-term development plan for future members and Club professionals. All resources and programs are also made available through www.myclubmylife.com, BGCA’s website for teens. To learn more about BGCA’s digital literacy program, visit www.bgca.org/clubtech.

So far, more than 900,000 young people have been served through the Club Tech programs and resources, and Comcast provided $1.4 million to 90 local Clubs, in addition to $8.6 million of in-kind support in the form of PSA airtime and donated products.

In 2011, BGCA, in partnership with Microsoft and Comcast, launched its Faces of the Future campaign, designed to raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy. The online campaign featured youth from across America who have been positively impacted by the Club Tech program and encouraged the public to support technology education.

Local Boys & Girls Clubs also frequently serve as hosts for the Comcast Digital Connectors program and as partners in Comcast Cares Day, our annual nationwide day of community service.
